The Selah retreat is an intentional weekend built around remembering what it means to be human. A good mental picture to help practically describe what this looks like is to picture your most restorative day off.

We believe that’s rooted in being present and grateful with where you are, having beautiful meals that nourish your body, getting out in nature, and resting. This involves breathing in the fresh air, reflecting together about your joys, hopes, grievances, and fears while being unplugged from all the noise and notifications that are current in our culture. The Selah experience is the pause you’ve been longing for — your moment to remember.

Nutrition

All of the meals and snacks will be prepared with organic and non-GMO ingredients, locally sourced from surrounding farms in the Pacific Northwest. Dietary allergies and restrictions will be handled with care and accommodated. There will be plenty of beautiful food to enjoy.

Mind

Our consciousness. The ability to think, feel, and choose. The mind is the 99% non-physical part of us which controls the brain.

As a group, we will open the mind through guided exercises to change the brain, creating new neural pathways, and changing future thoughts, resulting in new behaviors.

Body

Our material form. The physical structure that we inhabit and experience life through, our connection to the brain through our five senses.

We engage the body through thoughtful nutrition, movement, and rest, to give the brain the optimal state it requires to heal and develop healthy root systems to flourish.

Spirit

Our life source.

The immaterial essence that brings life to our bodies, the connection to the intangible. Who are we, what are we here for, and why? Created or evolved? What’s the point? To live in equanimity, we must embrace these questions, not dismiss them. We will create space to ask these questions, to connect with our breath, and accept the invitation to be fully alive.
